We spent our last full day in the Lakes visiting various sites around the Northern Lakes.
Our longest and highest walk of the week. Grasmere, Steel Fell, Calf Crag, Gibson Knott and Helm Crag. The forecast was for rain and cold temperatures on the tops, so we dressed for the worst. (more…)
The weather forecast is not favourable for a walk up Grasmoor as we’d planned, so we head back a little to the south of our walk from Elterwater on Monday to climb Holme Fell (more…)
A gloomy start to the day, so after a wander in Ambleside in the morning Jon and I set out after lunch to do the Wansfell Pike, Baystones, Nanny Lane, Troutbeck, Skelghyll Wood and Jenkin Crag round.
A low level walk in the Little Langdale valley in the continuing hot weather.
I’ve been going to Lakeland since I was a little girl and can honestly say it’s my favourite place to be.
Not having many high hills in the New Forest and with a visit to my cousin late afternoon, we keep our first walk short and low starting out from the White Moss car park on the edge of Rydal Water, walking around the lake along the Loughrigg Terrace, visit Rydal Cave and return along the Coffin Road.
