Heavy rain in the morning and Ibsley in the afternoon – not really a day for photos

Just one from yesterday, the 29th, a very still misty day, I loved this simplified view of Whitefield from the path around the bottom of Ibsley Common.

Back to today and I’m at Ibsley common again. A couple of ponies scrubbing around in the old bracken trying to find something to eat.

They peer at me as I pass – no doubt wondering whether I’d supply something better.

The heavy rain of this morning has given way to passing heavy showers which fill the sky with great thunderheads of cloud.

Looking into the lowering sun, the clouds create wonderful crepascular rays over Dorset.

The other direction again and Whitefield Plantation is dwarfed below a huge cloud.

23 odd miles away, Win Green Hill looks to be getting very wet (grainy from the zoom).

Finally, I’m treated to some lovely Mammatus clouds. Being a member of the Cloud Appreciation Society I am duty bound to photograph, share and generally expound the beauty of clouds at every opportunity – and these ones are very special!
