An Evening at Mill Lawn Near Burley
Thursday, August 5th, 2010
Mill Lawn is a lovely area close to the village of Burley in the New Forest. It has a brook that meanders in twists and curves between grassy banks.
Can you see the man with the oversized hairdo in this tree?
Walking away from the brook for a while, looking over the grass and bracken to the area of Burley New Inclosure known as Little Early.
I have no idea what this wildflower is, and my wildflower book was worse than useless at helping me identify it. Any ideas?
Some ponies messing about in the woods were proving a little too interesting to Marley and Harry. Before they could get involved, a sharp sit command from me produced this rather amusing arrangement of dogs!
Some of the sinuous curves of the Mill Lawn Brook.
The meanders of the brook create deep pools on the outer edges of each curve. Brilliant for throwing balls into for a dog that likes to dive!
The curving brook again, together with a beautiful blue sky and wonderful clouds.
I'd love to hear from you...
